Announcing Underscore Music Partnership - “at noon” !
For some years now, I’ve been creating music with my long-time music partner and dear friend, Jonathan Clark. Jonathan & I met when we joined Glenn Frey’s band, way back in the late 90s and have remained tight ever since. Little did I know back then, that I’d be writing so much original music with him and the result has been some of the most rewarding work in my whole career. It began when we first worked on my 1st album, “Travels” - which released in 2018 but really started years prior to that. I’ve learned so much from Jonathan that it feels like I’ve been going to engineering school. Plus, like all great producers, Jonathan turned a ‘light’ on in my head and I’ve realized my potential with his help and encouragement.
After I lost my mother in 2011, the emotional upheaval from that life experience revealed a lot of hidden music inside of me. I began playing and documenting melodies in Garage Band, literally in my garage studio. From that moment, the tap was open. Some of those melodies ended up on my 1st album and some finally saw the light on my new album that I just released in 2022 called “Dialogues”. So, the long incubation period of these songs has birthed some of my favorite creations and I have Jonathan to thank for making it all a reality.
Along with my album music, Jonathan & I connected with an old friend of mine, a great musician and composer - Wendie Colter. Wendie & I played together a long time ago and she always blew my mind with her great songs and voice. Wendie became one of the chief music producers for Mega Tracks, the music library company and spent years there and eventually began her own company called Bedheads Music.
After my 1st album was completed, I began coming up with some new instrumental ideas…more moody and atmospheric. I’d sent Wendie my 1st album and she thought I might be a good fit for Bedheads’ underscore style, so I brought these new ideas to Jonathan and we met with Wendie. She loved the idea of our composing partnership…and “at noon” was born. We finished and submitted a volume of 11 songs for her - music that was in the style of action, travel, sports, lifestyle type songs. She loved it and we’d also began writing some more moody, dark songs for the Crime/Drama genre.
At this time though, Wendie’s life took a different turn and her interest and focus followed a new path. She was finishing a book about her new career as a Medical Intuitive and needed to focus on the book. So, she decided to sell Bedheads and found a new home for her library with Atomica Music - one of the world’s leading music licensing and distribution companies. Atomica has relationships with networks and companies world-wide and places a wide array of music for TV, film, commercials, retail and corporate needs. As fate would have it, our 1st volume for Wendie, is now in the very cable hands of Atomica and is live on their site, entitled “Destinations”. We’re so excited about this!
The other volume of music we were working on in the Crime/Drama style, has now just been completed and we just submitted that to Atomica - that one will be called “Criminal Music”. We couldn’t be more thrilled about this! We’re very excited to be working with Atomica.
We now have a Soundcloud page where we feature all this underscore music. This is our on-line musical bio, where everyone can hear what we’ve been writing together. All this music is already spoken for, so it’s a landing page to feature the work Jonathan & I have been creating over the years.
Here’s a link to the “at noon” Soundcloud page (click on image) - check it out and let us know what you think! If you know of anyone looking for original music for their shows, projects, etc - we’d love to hear from you!
